FAQs

FAQs

  1. Do you accept custom soap orders?
Absolutely! Our handmade soap is perfect for bridal shower gifts, party favors, teacher gifts or custom soap baskets. There is a ten-bar minimum order and we request at least a six-week notice. Contact us if you have questions or would like bulk pricing and other information.
  2. What is the shelf life of handmade soap?
Heat, humidity and light all affect handmade soap. It should be stored in a cool, dry place (we recommend one of our cypress wood soap dishes) and is best if used within one year of purchase. However, we hope you love our soap so much that it will be used way before then!
  3. Why don't your soaps have a much stronger scent?
Handcrafted soaps with a very strong scent are made using synthetic fragrance oils. Our soaps are made using only natural essential oils. And, as such, they have a much more subtle scent.
  4. Why aren't any of your soaps white or have bright colors?
Handmade soaps that have bright colors achieve this through the addition of artificial ingredients like titanium dioxide (for white soaps) or colored pigments. We keep our soaps natural, simple and let the wonderful ingredients speak for themselves. All the lovely colors of our soaps are achieved through the use of oils/butters, clays and natural herbs and botanicals. Like we say, "Natural soap made with natural ingredients - naturally."
  5. Do you offer wholesale pricing?
Yes we do. Please email me at dana@cedarwoodsoap.com if you would like a copy of our wholesale price list.
  6. How much do your bars of soap weigh?
Freshly-made bars weigh approx. 4.5 oz., a month later (fully cured and ready to sell) they will weigh 3.6-4 oz. Each bar is approx. 2.75” wide x 3” high x 1” thick.
